How to reactivate Windows 7

Awhile ago Microsoft released a minor update to Windows 7, which eventually "catching" the unfortunate owners of a "not genuine" version of Windows who were with Automatic Updates enabled. This causes Windows to remove the wallpaper showing warnings and be very boring all the time.  Well, here's the solution:  I did this and it worked, and fortunately is a very simple solution and does not require the use of any foreign program.

Go to Start> Control Panel and select Programs and Features icons.
Control Panel
Programs and Features
Now click View Installed Updates on Programs and Features window

Installed Updates
Now click Uninstall after selecting Update for Microsoft Windows (KB971033)

After doing the above steps, go to Start> type "regedit" without quotes and press enter key.
Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OOBE

and in the right pane look for the MediaBootInstall key, if there's not then create a new value by doing right-click then select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and type MediaBootInstall for the value name.  Double-click MediaBootInstall and an "Edit DWORD (32-bit) Value" window will appear, if the Value data: is "0" then leave as is and if it's "1" then change it to zero "0".

Lastly, go to the start menu and type cmd, a shortcut will appear.  Right-click the shortcut and select Run as Administrator.  It will open a terminal window and type "slmgr /rearm" without quotes and press enter key. Wait until you see a window same as picture below.

After that, you can restart the computer that Windows is already activated again.  You can disable automatic updates so that it does not re-install this update it again.
